| Burma (Cambodian) Padauk Pterocarpus Macrocarpus This material comes from Cambodia where it is called “Thnong” or Asian Padauk. We thought it was a separate species but according to the USDA Forest Products laboratory it is Burma Padauk. The wood is very hard and much heavier than other Padauks. Our dry stock weighs about 5 1/2 lbs. per board foot. It takes a beautiful polish and we can see why it is sometimes called Burmese or Asian Rosewood, as it truly looks more like Rosewood than other Padauks.
